index.
The class gets as input a string defining the different input files. 
The different files are separated by a ";". The file names can contain also 
a "*" as wildcard, which can be used if there is a series of files 
differing by the file number.

the number of cores available in the system which is still the default. 
To define a differnt number of processes it is needed to define the
environment variable NCPU as the number of parallel processes to be used.
