@apuntke: I think you will need to do a git rebase --interactive upstream/master to handpick the commits you want to keep/remove the unwanted merge commits and get back to a linear history.

resolved all threads

There is still one or two runners that we need to add to your user so that the pipeline finishes. I discussed it with Florian and we will run a script to add all of them in one shot in the coming hours

Thanks pierre for the hint, it worked. I found out that we have to wait with the merge of this MR until computing/cbmroot!728 (merged) is merged.
